Club Rec is a day recreation program for individuals with a disability or physical limitation who can benefit from supervised social, recreational and wellness activities. Through a holistic approach, the Recreation Therapists at Club Rec promote healthy living and help you adapt to life after illness or injury, with the goal of enhancing your quality of life.


    Club Rec meets daily Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can attend one to four days per week. It is a non-medically based program and is not covered by insurance, however, financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

    Club Rec members have access to:

    • Organized recreation programs
    • Health and leisure education
    • Coping skills group
    • Spirituality group
    • Cooking Group
    • Arts and crafts
    • Group outings
    • Accessible travel program
    • Community Service Projects
    • Use of recreation/adaptive equipment
    • Access to the computer lab
    • Use of the therapeutic pool
    • Use of the onsite fitness center (equipment designed for
       people with limited movement)

    Getting Started

    Club Rec is located at the Sheltering Arms Midtown Center and is on the GRTC bus line. Transportation is also available through CARE and Access Chesterfield. To ensure that the program will be able to properly meet your needs, we ask that you schedule an appointment to come to Club Rec and complete an assessment with a therapist and tour the facility.

       Tours are available Monday - Thursday

    Evaluations are typically 1.5 hours long
